On Tuesday 26 April 2022 we came together as a community to recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the many achievements made by local business owners.

It was a great night showcasing not only the top 3 finalists for each award, but also many other local businesses who helped make it a great celebration, including Byron & Kylie from Wilbury & Sons in Moorabbin who hosted the event, Peter Jackson and Jon from The Jackson Combo who provided AMAZING live entertainment, Rekha from CakeReks who made the most delicious event cupcakes, Alan from Photobat Photography who captured all the important moments and Chris from DreamCube Productions who made our finalist videos.

The night however would not have been possible without our community focused and committed sponsors Bendigo Bank Parkdale.

Backed by Australia’s fifth biggest retail bank, Parkdale Community Bank Branch not only gives you access to award-winning and competitive financial products and services, we’re also committed to returning profits to our local communities.

Real stories, making a real difference for real people. Parkdale Community Bank has invested $2 million into the local community since its opening in 2000 giving up to 80% of profits back.

2020 Business Awards Testimonials

Wolf of the Willows, Winners 2020 Business Award

Like many local business, we had all faced challenges during the lockdown in 2020, not quite knowing what lay ahead. With a lot of hard work and determination, we thankfully managed to steer our business through some very tough and uncertain times. When we were given the opportunity to enter the awards, we hoped our story would resonate with others. We also saw it as a really great opportunity to connect with our local community as our business was new to the area and our Taproom had never traded due to the lockdown. Being awarded the 2020 Business award for innovation was such a proud moment, not just for Scott and I but our staff as well. Everyone had worked so hard to keep the wheels moving, so winning the award was a massive achievement. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for our amazing team.

Grape Explorations Australia, Finalist in 2020 Business Awards

As a local small business navigating my way through the COVID-19 challenges and having some extra time on my hands, I applied for the community awards to highlight my business, connect with other local businesses and have a chance to receive some recognition and exposure in my local community. It was a really beneficial experience for me and my business - once you start putting everything together and on paper, so to speak, it's amazing how much more you realise you have achieved. Meeting like minded business people in the local area and connecting with them was an added bonus that continues to this day. If you're thinking about applying, do it! What have you got to lose!
