Stomping Ground Morris Moor

Founded in 2016 by Steve Jeffares, Guy Greenstone and Justin Joiner, Stomping Ground is a neighbourhood brewery, bringing people together over a great beer. A century ago Collingwood was the epicentre of Australian brewing, and breweries were an integral part of their community. Through mergers and buyouts saw the closure of up to 40 breweries by the early 1900’s. With this in mind, Steve, Guy and Justin wanted to bring back a piece of history. Stomping Ground proudly brought independent brewing back to its original stomping ground. After months of searching, Morris Moor presented an exciting opportunity for Steve, Guy, Justin and their team to share their love of beer, culture, and hospitality with more Melbournians south of the river establishing a destination for the local community and with this, putting the community at the heart of everything they do.

 With the reinvention of the old building together with the familiar look and feel of the Collingwood Stomping Ground of exposed brick, steel, glass and recycled timber, the space was transformed into a luminous and inviting space that showcases a mighty beer hall pouring up to 26 different beers, beer garden with partially retractable roof, communal tables, an amazing kids cubby house and stunning event and functions space. It’s your one stop brewery. 

But what about the beers? With their extensive ever changing range of smashable lagers through to pale ales, IPAs, fruit sours, Belgian styles and delicious malty beers and stouts, they believe that beer should be for everyone and brew great beers to suit all tastes, from laid-back easy drinkers to adventurous spirits.
