Networking is all about making connections, forming relationships, looking for collaborations and building your own business community.
The Kingston Collective business community met on Wednesday 25 May morning for what was a fun and engaging networking session held at The Flour House in Highett. The morning began with guests being assigned to teams, who then had to figure out what it is they had in common. For those that have attended before, now know not to over think it as it is usually something simple. We had 5 groups which were grouped together as they 1. worked in hospitality, 2. worked with families, 3. worked within the property sector, 4. offered business services and 5. hand made products.
The next activity to get everyone moving about the room and meeting one another was Business Bingo. The idea (take note of the idea part…) was that we placed guests into random groups every 5 minutes based on personal questions – do you prefer cheese or chocolate, would you read a book or watch a movie, are you an early bird or a night owl etc…. In each group guests would meet someone new and see if something sounds like them on the bingo sheet. It was good in theory but guests were too eager to win the $25 Flour House voucher and filled the Bingo boxes within a few rounds!!! To determine the winner, we played a game of heads or tails with the excited winner being Tamara from Tamara Jane Kitchens. Whoo!
Once the activities were done, we were treated to an amazing spread of pastries and jams from The Flour House. I think there will be many return customers from that group!
All in all, a fun morning of connecting was had and we thank all of the lovely people that attended. It is the genuine individuals that makes this community so amazing!
