The Kingston Collective is made up of a diverse range of small and large businesses varying from e-commerce, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, business services and so much more. It is a collection of businesses that service the City of Kingston area and beyond.
Currently there are 15,500 registered businesses within the City of Kingston that employs over 70,000 people, of which 30% of those also live locally (21,000). That is a huge number given that the population is around 163,431.
The City of Kingston is one of the state’s main employment centres and is located in the middle and outer southern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 20km south of the city. Our borders connect with Bayside, Monash, Glen Eira, Greater Dandenong and Frankston. It represents 22 suburbs including Aspendale, Aspendale Gardens, Bonbeach, Braeside, Carrum, Chelsea, Chelsea Heights, Cheltenham, Clarinda, Clayton South, Dingley Village, Edithvale, Heatherton, Highett, Mentone, Moorabbin, Moorabbin Airport, Mordialloc, Oakleigh South, Parkdale, Patterson Lakes and Waterways – what a stretch!
The four main industries that make up the high employment rate include healthcare, hospitality, retail and manufacturing. In fact, it is one of the largest and most concentrated industrial sectors in Victoria. The biggest employment hubs and centres include Moorabbin, Cheltenham, Mentone, Mordialloc and Chelsea. Moorabbin and Cheltenham for their huge industrial zones and Mentone, Mordialloc and Chelsea for their beautiful beach locations! We are so diverse in our offerings.
With many co-working, business districts and clever warehousing projects like Clik Collective and the Morris Moor buildings in Moorabbin, the number of businesses within the City of Kingston will only continue to grow.
