On Wednesday 22 February we held our first networking event for 2023!
It was held at The Green Space in Mentone, which is a multi purpose studio, prefect for events, workshops, photography sessions and more!
The room was full of friendly, inclusive and chatty business owners, wanting to connect and strengthen their business networks and communities.
The gorgeous Rebecca from Silver Lioness Marketing was our key speaker, who spoke to the group about the Top 3 Marketing Strategies to help grow your business in 2023 – Social Content, Email Marketing and Referrals/ rewards programs.
There were SO MANY amazing takeaways from Bec’s presentation, but for me, the main points were:
- Your Brand Story – make sure it is focussed on human connection and your values – as they are what set you apart from everyone else. If you want people to remember you and your brand – tell them a story!
- Sit down one day and plan out a month’s worth of content strategy. What are you putting out? A blog, a newsletter, social media posts. One big piece of content can be broken up into little bite size pieces. Look at your marketing pillars and using a grid (like your Instagram feed) spread your pillars out so you are not JUST pushing product but you are also talking about your other pillars. You, your business, your brand, what’s important to the business, your values, whatever you have in your pillars. What do you want to say for that month.
- Sitting down and planning out a month’s worth (if you can), will help save you time, effort and potentially money. Or you can outsource it to Bec 😂.
- Don’t put content out for content’s sake.
- Likes breed likes – don’t just focus on new customers, nurture your existing clients as they already LOVE you and will help spread the word about you and or your products.
- Engagement – engage with your current audience and community via social media and emails. Connect with them in a natural and organic way.
- Rewards and Referrals programs – competitions, local collaborations and giveaways are always a winner.
- DO YOU – Play to your strengths! You have them, so use them
This was not even half of what Bec covered – there was so much more gold entwined in her presentation.
The main point in my opinion… sit down, figure out what you want to be known for, what do you want to say and how do you want people to connect with you.
Bec provided so many practical and easy to implement strategies and tips – with guests taking notes to then action later on. Using props and telling stories helped to break it down into language that the non marketing experts in the room could understand.
We also enjoyed a delicious morning tea baked fresh this morning from The French Providore in Moorabbin.
A huge thanks to everyone that joined us and we look forward to the next in person event in March!
Shout out to the lovely Jessica Roberts from The Who Photography & Design for taking some event pics for us 💐
